Microscope Model

Overview

This microscope was one of the first 3D assets I created for the Petri Dish educational game. The model was designed to represent a laboratory microscope that players could interact with during the experiment. Since the game takes place in a laboratory environment, the microscope was an important prop that helped create a believable scientific setting.

My Contribution

I created the entire microscope model in Blender based on reference images of real laboratory microscopes. I modeled the main body, eyepieces, objective lenses, stage, adjustment knobs, and base while keeping the polygon count suitable for real-time use in Unity.

After completing the model, I exported it to Unity and integrated it into the laboratory scene as part of the game's environment.

What I Learned

This was one of the first complex objects I created in Blender. Through this asset, I learned how to break down a complicated real-world object into simpler geometric shapes and combine them into a complete model.

I also learned:

Basic hard-surface modeling techniques.
Using reference images to match proportions.
Creating cylindrical and mechanical components.
Managing object hierarchy and organization in Blender.
Optimizing a model for use in a game environment.
